Moisturizing is the most important step for skin care.  Even women with oily skin need a moisturizer or serum formulated for oily skin

Moisture in the skin is imperative for a healthy complexion.  The skin draws in water from the air's humidity and water that is applied to it.  Skin's natural oils help to preserve the moisture within the tissues underneath the skin's surface.  Moisturize

When moisturizers are applied to the skin, they create a barrier so that the water content of the skin is preserved and environmental pollution, etc. aren't able to penetrate.  Moisturizers help hydrate and plump the skin to decrease the size of fine lines and wrinkles.

The right skin care products also help makeup to go on more smoothly and last longer.  For instance, the eye area seems to look dry and crepey before any other part of the face.  Using a safe, rich eye cream at night helps saturate the area with healthy oils.  A lighter moisturizer during the day will eliminate "slipping" of your makeup.

Moisturize your face after cleansing and toning.  If you are using a serum for firming or other corrective reason, apply the serum before moisturizing.  When applying the moisturizer, make sure you wash your hands first to eliminate spreading bacteria to the face (which can cause breakouts).

Always apply moisturizers in an upward motion.  Skin care doesn't have to be confusing!
